Choose by the task
Use merge to combine documents, split to extract pages, and page organization to reorder, rotate or remove pages. Images to PDF makes one page per image and does not recognize text automatically.
Back up the source files. Merge, split and page organization require unencrypted PDFs. If a file has an opening password, decrypt using a known password you are authorized to use; unknown passwords are not cracked.
Check file order before merging
Place a two-page a.pdf before a three-page b.pdf. Expect five pages: a1, a2, b1, b2, b3. Use dragging or move buttons to set order before generating.
The merge tool accepts 2–20 files with a 500-page total limit. Successful selection is not verification of the result; damage, encryption or insufficient resources can still prevent processing.
a.pdf: 2 pages + b.pdf: 3 pages → 5 pages
1-3, 5 → (1, 2, 3) + (5)Ranges and page organization
For a six-page PDF, 1-3, 5 produces one PDF with pages 1–3 and another with page 5, downloaded in a ZIP. Numbering starts at 1; distinguish comma-separated groups from hyphenated ranges.
Inspect thumbnails before reordering, rotating or deleting. After deletion, verify count and order, including blank pages, covers, landscape pages and appendices.
A normal-looking output is not enough
Rewriting can invalidate certificate signatures and may not preserve every form, annotation, bookmark or attachment. Image signatures and handwritten marks are visible graphics, without identity verification.
Open the download in a PDF reader and check pages, text, links, forms and signature status. Do not overwrite the original. If compression is needed, try lossless first and compare bytes; image recompression changes quality and does not guarantee a smaller file.
