UtilCove / Policies

Privacy Policy

This policy explains the data that may be involved when you use UtilCove, why it is processed, and the rights available to you. We minimize data handling, but site delivery, advertising, and email contact still involve third-party services.

Operator and contact

UtilCove is operated by David as an individual. David is the controller or operator for the processing described in this policy. Contact us by email with privacy questions or rights requests.

Local browser tool data

Unless a tool page clearly says otherwise, tool inputs, files, and generated results are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to UtilCove. Temporary files held in memory are normally released when the page is closed or refreshed. Do not process content you are not authorized to use, and keep your own copies of important files.

Site delivery, security, and technical logs

We use Cloudflare for DNS, content delivery, performance, and security. When you visit, Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request times and URLs, user-agent strings, device or browser information, approximate location, security events, and cookies or similar identifiers to deliver content, prevent abuse, and maintain the service. Cloudflare retains related logs under its policies and applicable law.

Umami website analytics

We use Umami Cloud to understand page visits, referral sources, browsers, device types, and approximate regions so we can improve our tools and website. Umami does not use cookies for analytics. Your browser sends analytics requests to its service, which may process technical information such as IP addresses and user-agent strings to provide statistics.

We do not send tool inputs, uploaded files, or generated results to Umami. Query parameters and URL fragments are removed from page and referrer URLs in analytics requests. We respect the browser’s Do Not Track setting. Analytics retention and international processing follow Umami’s service policies and applicable law.

Google AdSense, advertising, and cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process cookies, online identifiers, IP addresses, device and browser information, approximate location, visits, and ad interaction data to serve and limit ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, and—where the required consent is obtained—personalize advertising.

Where required by law, non-essential advertising storage or personalization is based on your consent. When an on-site consent control is shown, you can use it to change or withdraw your choice. You can also clear browser cookies or manage Google ad settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it.

Local browser preferences

We use browser local storage for your theme preference (utilcove-theme) tool-navigation collapsed state (utilcove:tool-nav-collapsed), and language choice (utilcove-language). These functional preferences remain on your device and can be cleared in your browser’s site-data settings. Third-party advertising services may separately set cookies or similar identifiers.

Contact email

When you email contact@utilcove.com, we process your email address, display name, message, and any attachment you choose to send so we can read, answer, and manage the request. Mail is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to Google Gmail, so Cloudflare and Google may process this data for transmission, security, and mailbox hosting.

We keep correspondence only as long as needed to respond, follow up reasonably, maintain security, or meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. It may be retained longer for a dispute or legal requirement. Do not email unnecessary sensitive information.

Legal bases and retention

Depending on the data and your location, our legal bases may include your consent; responding to your request or taking pre-contractual steps; legitimate interests in site security, availability, and communication records; and compliance with legal obligations. Data is kept only as long as needed for its purpose, then deleted or anonymized, although legal duties, security incidents, fraud prevention, or disputes may require longer retention. Third-party retention periods are governed by their own policies.

Recipients and international processing

Cloudflare, Google, Umami, and their authorized providers may process data outside your country or region, including in the United States. Their safeguards, data-center locations, and transfer mechanisms are governed by the relevant provider and applicable law. We do not sell contact information you provide directly to UtilCove. “Sale” or “sharing” in the advertising ecosystem can have special meanings under some laws; use the applicable consent and advertising controls to exercise your choices.

Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the applicable time limit. Manage third-party advertising preferences through the relevant provider’s controls as well.

Children’s privacy

The site is for a general audience and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data directly through the site. A guardian who believes a child has provided personal data can email us so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service, third-party providers, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with an updated date. If a material change requires renewed consent, we will provide the required choice.
